so i finally decided to update my 7610's. i got everything downloaded but when i went to open up the file and save it onto my SD card, it is basically saying that i need Windows to open up the file. is there anyway to open up this download via MacOS?

Yes, but I forget the details. Search Troyboys posts or maybe PM him. He is a mac/apple guy.
You could also try calling customer support. Im sure they can refer you to the correct software to make it happen.
