    Battery Compartment

    Hi All
I am a frequent viewer of site but seldom post. I have an 08' 2100 that I am thinking I may go from 24 volt 3 battery system to a 4 Battery 36 volt system. THis looks like it is going to be a big job due to room, though there is nothing behind driver in lower area. If I put batteries back there I am worried about balance and if I can screw a battery bracket in there.

Could any of you 2100 owners send me some pictures o the back compartment so I can see your configuration. I don't even have room for larger then optima batteries.

I do have a Bob's hydraulic pump in there and a Stealth charger.

    Thanks
    Cam

    why not a 36Volt 3 battery?

I fish at night with lights, locators, livewells running..no problem.

Thanks for the responses! Fisherman, I use my middle seat from time to time, great idea but won't work for me. I've wondered about the 3 battery 36 volt but have read it's not a good idea. Maybe I'll do a little more research. If the 209 has a similar rear compartment I'd love to see a picture of your set-up, I realize it can be done just wondering where folks him moved and placed everything to make it work.

Use good batteries and maintain them and a 3 battery, 36 volt system works fine. I do carry a set of jumper cables.

Pm me your number and Ill send you pictures of how mine is set up. Its a 2100 with 4 Batteries and went from Optima's to NorthStar 24 series and 1 cranking Odyssey 31 series. They have been great so far. And much stronger Troller than a 24volt could ever do.

I have an Intimidator and set my batteries longways instead of sideways. Was then able to fit three optima's where two larger batteries sat. I did have to move my Bob's JP pump. I also have a four bank charger installed back there as well.

Honestly I need to go back in there and redo/redirect some of the wires and cover some with the protect sleeves... it would dress it up a lot! That project will have to wait...

What did you put between the battery on the rt. and the oil tank? I have a pair of 8' Talons still in the boxes that I keep putting off installing because I had rather have poles but could not se a way to install the pumps. I also have the jp pump in the rear compartment. neat set up LS..

on top of the battery anchor bolts, i placed 2 rubber nut covers...
then i cut a 3/8" thick piece of truck bed mat, the size of the battery and laid it on top of battery...
then just set the oil tank on top...it doesn't move at all because the lid and the storage tray hold's it perfectly in place...been running this set up on 2 boats now, and 6 years with zero issues...
