I recently restored a 1989 Javelin 396fs with Evinrude 150XP. It has a 24p 4blade SS prop. Runs 49mph (gps) at 4950rpm at WOT. No jack plate, has hydrofoil. Seems low RPM and speed. Any recommendations? What are other people running on the 396FS?

Most folks are running a 200 or 225 on those hulls. Yours is way under powered with a 150. See if you can find a Renegade 21 to try and a 6 or 8" jackplate will help,those FS hulls need all the bow lift they can get.
