    2003 and pro max prop?

Any of you boys run a pro max on your 2003 yet? I got my hands on a 26 and so far I am very pleased with it. I haven't ran it to see what she will run on top but, the boat responds to trim extremely well. It carries the bow as good or better than anything I have ran to date. I have never ran a OT4 or a Hydromotive so..........The blades look very similar to a ET blade. ET's have always ran really good on my boat. I am running the 226 Pro XS with 1.62 gearing. I am looking for a good load carrying prop that will get me 85. Not sure if this prop will get me there, thinking I am going to need a 27 or 28. I ran one back when I have 5.5inches of set back and I only saw 81. But, I think the boat runs a lot better now with the added set back. Still working on the PVS/blow out ring for the best take off. So far the best was solid PVS plugs and no blow out ring. Any of you 2003 guys ran a pro max yet? What did you think?

Not a 2003 but I have ran a 28 Promax loaded with a passenger and full tank to 86 on my 21 with a 250 1.75 gears so I would venture to say a 26 w/1.62's should pretty much do the same. I was hard on the limiter though!

TXP's run real stiff and like to be run real high. That's where they shine over others

How many RPM's you have to turn to get that speed?

I ran a 26" ProMax on my 2003 all the time. Tim B drove mine to 88 mph with a 1.87 225X 2.5L. You should be able to match that with your 1.62's.

My only problem is I am limited to 6k RPM's with the 3.0 liter. So I am thinking I will be around 82 or 83 with the 26. When I had the 2.5 200. I was running close to 88 mph with a 26 et but, that was at 6700-6800 rpms.

I had the 225 sport xs on my xb21 Prosport before the 300. They are strong motors. Mine would do 90 with a 30p. It had 1.62's and it popped my 30p bravo out of the hole better than my 300. On my boat the the 30p promax is faster than the 30p bravo. I venture to guess a 27 or 28 would work well for load and hit 85 for you.

So I know with the trophy props the 26 and 27 run completely different than a 28. The 28 I ran was junk. If I decide to go with a higher pitch pro max do they all perform the same?

What is the diff. Between a promax and bravo ? Rake ? Diameter ? Dunno but always had good luck with bravo 1's, my 03 responds well to o/shore cut choppers and trophys, it pulls like a freight train with a 26 pro et 4 blade, but no bow lift

I had a 28 ProMax, it was too stiff for my 03/225x but the 3.0 might pull it to your limiter. It had good lift and drove nice, just not right for my rig. I would like to try a 27.

So I was by myself yesterday with all my gear empty live well half a tank of fuel. If I trim this sucker to what looks like neutral trim and stomp it from around 40-45 mph. It lifts the boat so high I feel like I am ten feet off the water and the nose climbs up so high I think its going to blow over. Anyone ever had this feeling in a 2003?

Not sure on the 03 but my XB21 runs pretty high out of the water and I do trim a little past neutral. I have seen 03's run before and they seem to have lots of lift as well.

Promax is basically the pro et blades on a thru/over hub prop. Radically different from a Bravo, which is a large barrel thru hub design.

Well I like it. I need to find a 27 and a 28 and run them to see what I like the best. This one is pretty solid so far though. Just want something with more top end. The bow barley comes up when getting on plane and I run no planning aid of any kind.

A 28 should do the trick with your gears. I have the 250 with 1.75's on a much heavier boat and still find the limiter even in Tx summers!
