I am looking for a lowere unit for a 1997 Mariner 225 Supermag. Gear ratio is 1.87/1 2.5 liter. I am honestly getting to give up and buy another motor. Seems like the are Bigfoot and not even real. Lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
What lower unit are you looking for? What boat are you running? A lower unit from a 1976 V6 merc up to a current 150/175 will bolt on that motor. Your Mariner is a Mercury that went through a grey paint booth.
1995 Allison XB-2003 225 Super Mag. It's slow and I'm ok with that.
+1... pretty simple to come by an OEM (Standard) Gearcase, and even the HP cases can be found from time to time.
