Tracker 195txw with Merc 115 pro xs and Laser 2 ss prop not gaining speed

Hi guys, I'm new to boating , and this forum. I recently purchased a laser 2 prop for my 195txw with the recommendation from Tracker on the prop size. Their spec sheet has my boat running about 52 mph with this prop. I'm barely hitting 46 mph, which is what I was running with the original aluminum prop. I feel like the prop is slipping somewhat, and the motor has a little more to give. Any suggestions on what it could be? I've heard everything from cracked hub, pvs plugs, and that a ss prop will not give you any additional mph??

Is the motor bolted to the transom now and what set of holes are the bolts in? Your showing a lot of prop slip with the 21" laser II and thats why it's only getting 46 mph.

Yes it's bolted directly to the transom. I believe it's in the 2nd hole

That's a mod-V non pad hull isn't it. Look at the cav plate and see if it even with the bottom of the hull or not. Does it have a command thrust lower unit on it or a regular lower? That will make a big difference.

You can have Mark Croxton work the laser II to get rid of some slip and it should gain some speed. Have you got anything hanging in the water on the transom close to the center?

How much weight do you have in the boat? When I'm fishing by myself my boat runs 52 mph. When I have 2 people and gear 48 is as good as it gets. Mark Croxton added cup to my prop and it is much faster now.

I think you can improve a little but that engine gets about 50 on the lighter and narrower PT190. I think 50+ is too optimistic. I would expect you to end up somewhere between 45-48 when you get it setup nice.

Get the prop worked and then think about adding a 6" set back plate.

That's the wrong prop for that boat. A laser is ok but not that great of a prop to begin with, I have one on my shelf. I think you have too much motor and boat for that prop.

I have the 190 with a 115 and fully loaded and two big boys runs 50mph on gps at 5800 rpm's. Your boat should be flying.

Do you have the command thrust? If so, the hub on the laser is too small for the foot’s bullet. I have the command thrust and my dealer mistakenly put the laser on the boat. They are now sending me a Tempest.
