Where can a 4th battery be installed in a 1996 Champion 186? I'm considering a 36V trolling motor but would need a creative location for a 4th battery.
Thanks.

On my 98 186 I would have to disable oil injection and remove oil jug. Pre-mix oil/gas. Only way I see it.
If your using agm batteries. Stand them on end and block with foam. I have them like that in my 202 found here. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread....281&highlight=

In my 184, I put my oil tank in a plastic storage box and moved it to my starboard rod locker. The storage box keeps any spilled or leaking oil in the box and off the carpet. Pick up new oil line from a dealer. Never had a problem in all the years I owned that Champ.
Use one of your 3 trolling batteries for your motor and 12v accessories. I have done it for years with a 24v trolling motors. Works great.
What does the back storage look like in a 186, I've never seen one? I could squeeze 6 batteries in my 176 without modification if I really wanted to.
186 rear storage is nothing like that in your 176.
Thanks for the tips. I am using an AGM battery now for my engine/electronics. Turning it sideways may be a good option. I will let you know. I need to double check whether my specific AGM is okay to turn sideways. Thanks again.
