Gatorbak Clear LED lit bunks with video/pic's.

Now that I have bypassed the Photobucket ransom and got pic's back up.

For night loading and "bling" halo ground effect on the trailer.

    Installation 6-21-17.
    Boat: 2009 Ranger Z21 Intracoastal
    2 outside bunks 5'.
    2 inside bunks 12'.
New KDAT 2X6 #1 Grade wood bunk boards. (Kiln Dried After Treated) This is premium straight wood with no knots/bark scuffs. Not cheap!
Routed for LED lights 1" in from outside edges. *Anything more than one LED strip per bunk placed like this is overkill IMO.
Bluewater white LED light strips. One per bunk. http://gatorbak.com/blue-water-led-lights/
    Primed/painted white on top/sides.
Gatorbak Premium Clear 2X6 bunk covers & end caps. http://gatorbak.com/gb550-premium-clear-bunk-cover/
    Reused all SS lag bolts/washers.
12 gage wiring/marine heat shrink butt splices/heat shrink 3/8" & 1/2"/3/8" wire loom all secured inside of rear support.
Daisy chained bunks at rear of trailer and tied into license plate lamp feed.
Total cost for all items: $991.84

    Two video's:

These lit bunks replaced perfectly good 3+ year old Gatorbak white bunks to upgrade to the lit bunks.

Nice....even cooler if the lights could be wired to be sequential like airport landing beacons.

Mike, Real cool look. Have an unrelated question re the trailer for my Z520cintracoastal. Ranger used lag screws to secure the 11' bunks to the right angle brackets except for the second set of brackets counting from the front. There, they used SS carriage bolts.Did your Ranger trailer use any SS carriage bolts or did it come with SS lag screws throughout? Can you think of any reason they used carriage bolts?

They do that on all of there trailers. If your changing boards out and you finally get the carriage bolts out by cutting/hammering/beating/cussing, then go back with all lags. We think they use them just because they know how much it will piss the guy off that is trying to remove them. There is no mechanical engineering reason for it.

Mike, just curious as to where the boat is while you were completing the work on the transition.

Looks really good I would've thought with the boat sitting on the bunks bunks they wouldn't put out no glow but damn that is sweet
