    Boat will not plane out

    I have a 1991 21 ft with a 1999 225 sport max the boat runs out good but will not come out of the hole it runs 2500 rpms wot till it plans off then will run normal 5500 plus rpms the prop is a 25 pitch what could be wrong ?

    Sounds like the prop needs some venting.

    Ideal rpm's during hole shot is 3,500 but need more info p2p measurement and what prop?

    His boat is a 21 ft Norris craft. Motor is a mercury sport max.

    You need some ventilation in your prop...some holes drilled in the barrel just in front of the actual blades. Prop needs to spin up to 3500 or so to get you out of the hole.

    Are you sure the motor isn't a mercury Pro Max not a sport max. If it's a Pro Max he needs a smaller prop and his top wot rpm's should be closer to 6500 not 5500.
