Yes DVA adapter installed. Manual states to set a peak reading volt meter to Pos and 500.
I can't tell you the difference in stators. But boy do I know what you mean about how high things are. I always installed original equipment (OEM) but I have replaced enough after market to not recommend them. Some folks have good luck with CDI, they do have a warranty, but most of us here don't like them at all, especially me.
On some of these stator problems, things change with heat, as in when the motor is hot. The OHM's tests will change because they are affected by the component temp. The manual OHM's tests are done at 70 degrees.
I'm just going by what info you have given us, the stator output tests on other older motors, used to say the voltage output "must" be a certain minimum voltage. I still believe this is true on motors like yours and mine. I do know that with charge coil output at 145 volts on one bank, the spark will not jump 7/16 but just move the spark tester about .025 closer and spark will show up. Also we go a lot on how hot or bright the spark looks. With all of your cylinders sparking, but only at less than a 1/4 inch, it does sound like a bad stator and then with the 120 volts test that backs it up.
