fished tournament Saturday before Hurricane hit, boat ran well early planned off on first try. As the day progressed planning off became more difficult, at end of the day boat would not plane off at all. what gives??????
Jerry is a little busy, so I'll take this one.
Sounds to me like your hull is filling up with water. You probably have a livewell line loose that is causing the hull to fill with water as you run it throughout the day, thus making it harder to plane out later in the day.
If that's not the problem, your motor still has issues. Good luck.

Cloudy early, sunny later 78 windy gust to 30
Engine is still only turning 4800 to 5000 rpm no matter where the prop is located I raised it one inch makes no difference, I am leaning toward a bad powerpack do any of the moderators agree
motor is only turning 48-5000 rpm, no matter where the prop is, to the other question I have an automatic bilge pump so the boat would not be filling with water. I am leaning towards a bad power pack does anyone agree.
I have two bilge pumps, one automatic and one manual on a switch. Once I thought the boat was slow out of the hole, maybe filling with water, the auto pump never came on so I turned on the manual no water came out. When I realized the boat was filling with water I checked things out. Auto pump was shot and the manual had blown a fuse. I'll try and word this so it is not a question If you pull the plug and no water comes out, chances are the boat is not filling with water. Sometimes the motor will not be getting full throttle. Sometimes the motor will not be getting spark on all cylinders. Sometimes those Blue CDI power packs are junk. I believe all the mods will agree that at all times, replace the sensor with the power pack. Sometimes it's best to follow the service manual and test things out before just throwing parts at it. By golly I think I did it, no questions.

When I pull the plug there is very little water, I can physically see water being pumped out of the boat by the bilge pumps, where do I find a spark attatchment.

Finally got to the lake Saturday, I have not changed the power pack, I did the spark test nothing would jump the 7/16 inch the best I could get was about 1/4 inch. The first hole shot was ok, the motor would only turn 4800 rpm, 1/2 half tank of gas 2 people and fishing gear. the second blast was worse but it finally planed off by the end of the day the only way it would plane off was my fishing partner had to go to the bow of the boat while I moved the trim up and down until I hit the sweet spot and then the boat would plane off and turn 4800 rpm, the boat is using a lot of gas.
At the risk of being totally ignored, and at this point I really don't care. Finally a spark test, with no cylinders sparking at 7/16 but all at 1/4, the stator must be checked for voltage output. The power pack might be OK.
