Laurel river lake?

Might go down for the day with the wife and kid to fish and relax on the water. Only been once over the winter and thought it was a neat lake but no nothing about it this time is the year or the current conditions?

I've lived within 10 minutes of it most of my life. I fish a lot in the southeast us and laurel is the prettiest lake I've been on. Now as for fishing...I rarely fish it. Usually only in the spring when they r up shallow. It's a deep clear lake. Great smallmouth fishing in the winter but I'm a big cold weather wuss. Lots of recreational traffic this time of year. Put in only at grove marina. The other ramps are bad for break ins.
