    Motorguide tour 109 problem

I have a 3 or 4 year old tour 109 that has never given any trouble until yesterday. Got to first fishing spot, dropped motor in, switched it on and it took off WOT. None of the switches would change anything. Does anybody know what would cause this and what I need to fix it.

I would say you have moisture in the motor. I have seen may Motor Guide Tour Motors with moisture do this. If it were filled with water it would not run at all.

If it is digital, this is usually a module problem. The question is what caused the module to go bad? Could be charging circuit or water in lower unit -- or just time for the module to go bad.
Let me know if I can help.
