Wanted to get opinions on a boat purchase. What would you get a 2014 fx20 with low hours and a couple of years left on warranty or a new 2017 zx225. The fx will prob save me a couple of K.
Thanks

FX. Bigger motor, fancier, flagship
Unless you MUST have the 2 separate storage boxes, 2 separate live wells, 2 fuel tanks, and top speed is a must, then the FX. The extra cost of the Zx is more insurance towards repairs or warranty items. Heck you could probably still find a 2016 Zx250 as well, and split the costs.
My 17 ZX 225!porposes bad and won't turn over 6500. Don't know about no FX
meant to say 5500
I was in the same situation a couple of months ago and found a new leftover 2016 ZX225. The warranty and it being brand new as well as the deal was what got me. I actually do like the dual boxes and separate live wells on the FX though.
FX for me
Only problem with the used is that the warranty only covers some things that are transferable... Even on the hull, it's only covers for 10 years for the second owner I believe...If you buy new then you get the new warranty that covers the original owner for pretty much everything and what 6 years on the motor...I like the Fx20 a lot but the zx line is a serious bass fishing boat.. I love my boat and the trim on it...

You should be able find a 16 zx250 for high high 40s to very low 50s. Last year in 2016 around same time I found a brand new 2015 zx250 with cover and dual console for 48,500, so the deals are out there just have to look
i although love my 2016 fx20 Le and I paid the same price as a 2016/17 zx250 with only 20hr on her
2019 RANGER 198P DUAL CONSOLE

I agree with randy t...There are enough problems out there with any new boat brand that need warranted...let alone a used one that you have no idea how was treated. Go new! Good luck sir....
