Running a 250ss on my 20'9 procraft. I don't know if they make a 300 outside of the longer shaft motor. The 250ss has the 300 head tuning could get you to 300,but I don't know where you'd have it done.

I've been seeing a few 300 4 strokes on pontoon boats. I was just wondering how good of a motor it is and how it would handle a 21-6 boat. I have a 250 xs now on a 211, seems to be great.. Just thinking about a V21 with a little bigger efficient motor.

I'd bet you could run high 60's and maybe touch 70 on the 250. Probably would get a few mph more out of a 300. But I have no experience with them and don't know what they run out like.

Thank you so much.. For me it's not so much about the speed it's about getting a good reliable, efficient motor..I just don't want to get a set up like i had in the early 90's when i got a 201 stratos with a 150 on it so i could fish tournaments what a turd. lol

Could get a 250 Honda or 250 Tohatsu? Be lucky to hit mid 60s in a V20/V21 though...

Tyler, I don't know if I need something that big, but thank you.. I just think I could get a 300 Suzuki for about the same money that a 250 Xs would cost. I would like somebody to give me some non bias information about the Suzuki 300. Sometimes this is hard to find on this site, I've had several great motors from different manufacturer's, I'm not married to just one!

My 250ss was about the same as a 250proxs. I don't know what the 300 would cost. Reliability is why I bought the 250ss. Heard good reviews from those who had them. I could not be happier with mine. Good on fuel. Tons of torque. Midrange it pulls super hard. Wish you were closer, you could check mine out.

Thank you so much for the honest information.. I think with that said i will give one a try. Probably could get by with the 250 but the V21 is a big boat, heck i could get by with the 200, pretty notorious for driving around at 4000Rpm!

I assume a normal 20" shaft, unless legend is doing something different than others.
