Any one seen this? 75 Mercury 4 Stroke 2011 S#1B897180

I took my cowling off to change the oil and noticed the air filter is disintegrated. Is this a huge concern? Is this covered under warranty? Thanks

Pretty common. Mercury has updated the filter to a pleated one and it's suggested to replace it with that one. From the looks of yours, I'd replace it before I ran the motor again. Nasty stuff being sucked into the engine. Warranty will not cover it..

They could have sent an email... They wouldn't have made a new one if they didn't know it was a problem.

Air filter inspection, cleaning, or replacement as necessary is a regular (annual) maintenance item.

New replacement filters are (IMHO) a better design.
