    What are y'alls favorite reel brand? Rod brand?

    My favorite reel brand is Abu Garcia and my favorite rod brand is St Croix.

    I bought a 13 fishing reel on clearance at academy, I haven't used it a bunch, but so far it's the smoothest and longest casting reel I have ever had including curados.

    I like the reels too except the Inception side plate is easy to accidentally knock off. Like into the water. Lol. They do cast really well. I like the Omen Black 2 rods also. I have been switching my abu reels and all pro rods over to 13 fishing lately.

    Shimano and GLoomis

    For the last 10 years I have owned nothing but Shimano reels. Recently I bought 3 Lew's. My first impression is good but it's too soon to see if they have the longevity of Shimano. My rods are a 50/50 mix of Gloomis and Shimano with 1 Skeet Reese a 2 Quantum's in the mix.

    Diawa reels and loomis rods. Little pricey to put the combo together but it's one amazing setup..

    I do have a Lews I bought a few years ago and still use it for deep cranking. Very good reel and very forgiving!
