    Tracker 195 TXW

i need some help from you tin guys. i currently have a 175 txw but i am thinking about getting a 195 txw with a 150 merc on it. does anyone have any experience with these and if so i am looking for information on handling and top speed with this set up. thanks

Speed is about 55-60mph. A friend has one, I would encourage you to look at Ranger 198P or wait until they address transom issues with this boat. There are MANY including my friends, who's transom cracked and they had to replace his entire hull due to crappy re welding. Save up some extra cash, and get the Ranger!

20HP - I am in the same boat as you (pun intended), I have an 06 PT175 which I love, great boat, not one problem, but am looking to upgrade within the next year or 2 (max). i am leaning toward the 198p, based on the forums herein and what I read elsewhere, and the face that it bears the Ranger name.

Roger that... I just wish I could get the truth or an answer from a reputable source about the transom issues. I've heard that they are re-designed, etc... but it's all speculation.

I love my Tracker but the transom issues with the 195 keep me from considering it when I upgrade within the next year. The transom issues are legit. The other pro team models are solid boats.

Normally 49-50. The fastest I've ever gone was 52 point something.

That's pretty good... I would expect the 4S and the Pro XS 4S to be a bit slower, correct?

I get 60-61 with a 23P trophy plus @ 5710 rpm. Full tourny load, can maybe sqeeze a little more speed if the tubers would not take over the lake.

I have the 195 and have been pretty impressed with the hull and motor, fit and finish on the interior isn't great but that isn't the biggest deal to me.

Been swapping out tons of props, best I did with factory 24p tempest was just over 60. Really bogged down under heavier loads though. Think I've finally settled on a 4 blade 23p Michigan prop, slightly slower but over 55 mph loaded and great handling.

This model does 61 or so if loaded light. Load it up really heavy and you are looking at 55-58.

Fwiw most trips out I rarely break 45. I never understood why folks get worked up over top speed for a boat. Does everyone run their boats wide open all the time?

Ok so does merc make a 150 pro xs four stroke? I'm getting a 150 just trying to decide which one

    No. They have a 150 proxs 2 stroke and a 150!4 stroke.

fwiw the 150 fourstroke is a great motor and I will never go back to a 2 stroke.

I wonder that about top speed with people too. Seems a lot are looking more for a speed boat than a bass boat. However, there are brands that are built just to fit that niche. To the OP, try xpress boats if youre looking to scream all over the lake.
