    Torqeedo 403 Ultralight

I don't know how many of you have had this product on your radar, but they just released their 915 wh equivalent battery that will go with this motor setup. I have their current 320 wh battery with my current setup and it has lasted 6-7 hours without any issues. Now this new battery is 3X the size! That means full power all day on tournament day which is pretty exciting. The 320 wh battery is $599 and the 915 wh is $899. A little bit of sticker shock to be honest...but your paying for a whole lot more than just the lithium battery. Sealed battery case that floats...waterproof connections to the motor and controller...and GPS receiver that will track your entire path. I am pretty pumped to upgrade now!

Is that something you saw at ICast? Sounds pretty neat.

No, it's been out for a while now. There are a few variations of it as well to be compatible with Hobie and the Wilderness Systems Radar. The Helix MD for the Radar is the 403 ultralight motor.

Here is the standard package though...

Hey Fluke... I re-read your blog on the torqeedo install. I think I'm just gonna go cheap and put a 30" MinnKota on a mount from Islandhopper Outboards. What would you recommend for a battery? I tried to find rich99's thread on that but it's gone. I saw a 35ah on Amazon that was $63.00. What are you using for your Torqeedo?

The Torqeedo setup comes with a lithium ion battery and waterproof case for it (entire motor package weighs 19.6 pounds). It's an 11 ah equivalent battery but you will need a much bigger one for the Minnkota. A 35ah SLA battery would probably be your best bet...but then that's roughly 25 pounds of additional weight on top of the trolling motor. Just food for thought but I agree the TM and SLA battery will be much cheaper.

If Arkansas didn't require you to register your kayak....I would have one these. Just don't want to pay taxes every year on my kayak.

That's kind of where I'm at too. Right now, no tags. Add motor, I'll have to register.
