    Blisters On My 06 186

Boat came out of the water on the trailer crooked so before I backed back in I checked the hull and low and behold I have a section of blistering about 2 feet long on the starboard side ( I didn't check the port side). Does this need to be fixed ASAP due to a potential structural issue or can I just deal with it and use the boat as is? This certainly has me bummed out.

It's my understanding that as long as they're not broke open you don't need to rush to do anything about them. It's when they break open that you'll end up with problems. I'm running a Triton and I ain't gonna dare look under mine to see what it looks like.

I would call Charger. I believe they have a lifetime warranty on the hull.

But just like all the others that have lifetime warranties, they don't cover blisters.

I jacked it up and it's only in that one area. Putting on gatotbaks while it in the air.

Not going to fix itself and gator bacs will tear them open pretty quick...Get them fixed now so they don't get worse.

I would hope if someone was selling their boat knowing it had blisters they would disclose that information.

I wonder if the dealer I bought it from knew they were there?

2.5 years ago I bought it. If I only knew now what I didn't know then. I probably should have went with my gut feeling and walked away but I always wanted a bass boat and I put on the blinders.

Blisters won't last that long before they open up so they weren't on it when you bought it.

I know it won't make you feel any better, but all brands get them. All! In fact check every warranty out there and none of them cover blisters. The worst thing you can do is to park it in a garage with wet bunks, that's where the gatorbacks come into play. They let the water out from against the boat/bunk.

Put on the gatorbaks and now the boat won't sit right on the trailer. Bunks run to close too the strakes and the boat is getting hung up on the gatorbaks. Would it be an issue moving the bunks out wards a 1/2 inch or so even if the boards are no longer centered on the mounting brackets?
