    BPS Crankin Sticks

I have been informed that the BPS Crankin Stick is no longer being manufactured. This is a rod that I've fallen in love with since going to braid. Is this true ??? This rod has to be one of the best sellers they've ever had and I love the ones I have. Bad part is I was given a gift certificate for father's day and was looking forward to getting another ... now I don't know what to buy ... underwear I guess.

I don't know about the Crankin' Stick. But, my partner loves the BPS Extreme Series rods and they are discontinued. You might call some BPS stores and see if they have any of the Crankin Sticks still left in stock.

I had a feeling that was the case. My local BPS has a few left but I don't have a need for one. Otherwise I'd get one--great rods.

If you think you might need one in the further I'd pick one up. I had the chance to do that with my favorite reel and didn't. Now they are discontinued and no longer available.

I think I might call the local BPS's ... all three are at least an hours drive and see if any have them available. Thanks ... Mike

I called BPS today in Spanish Fort Alabama. They do NOT have any BPS Crankin Rods in stock. The sales person also told me that he had heard that the Crankin Sticks would be discontinued.

I'm sure there is a new model that costs twice as much in the works.

Yep, I agree, kind of like St. Croix with their new S-glass crankbait rod, ~$240. St. Croix has been using S-glass for years, I don't see how all of the sudden a fiberglass blank would be that expensive to produce.

Did they mention what the price would be for the new models?

I have always wanted to get their crankbait rods. It just looks good overall but I cant get over the "Power cork handle"

If they come out without it, I just might swipe my credit card :)

If you don't like the Power Hump, just sand it off.
