    2018 Ranger Z519 Evinrude G2 HO 225hp Set-up help

Scratching my head. This is my first bassboat with a jackplate (manual) and cannot find the sweet spot for my 2018 Ranger Z519 with a Evinrude G2 HO 225HP.
Out of the dealership, I was able to do 69.7mph with a 24P Raker at 5750rpm and trimmed at about 55%. Today I did lots of testing with a 26P Raker and was not able to improve. My most extreme adjustment was motor up by 2 inches (approx) and vent holes closes and was not able to do lot more than 67mph and trimmed at 85% at 5700rpm with a 10' plus rooster tail.
I am very confused since I see no improvement in speed. Hole shot is always crazy. Out in less than two seconds whatever set-up I have.

How high prop to pad was the motor when it was throwing a tail? Might have to drop it back down and start over. Don't make big moves when you raise it up just 1/4" at a time until you gain rpm's but not speed lose bow lift or water pressure then drop it down 1/4" and it should be close..

Max rpm on that motor is 6k. Why did you swap to a 26 if you weren't spinning the 24 to the limiter?

I'm guessing that 26P is too much prop. Your rooster tail should not be over your cowling. You're over-trimmed and your slip jumped to 12%.

I would guess a 24 Raker HO might be the ticket. Maybe get it B&B'd. This motor likes to run high so I would start at 3" and work up a 1/4" at a time. I would guess it will end up about 2.5". How much of a setback does your JP add?

The Raker HO is pretty good stock. If you don't want to B&B and if you have access to a 25, try that.

There are some guys here that know this setup. If they don't pick up on this thread, try over on the Ranger forum.
