Passenger side carpet soaking with water?

Another issue that just started a few weeks ago.... for some reason the passenger side floor carpet would start soaking up with water... sure there may be some water in the bilge area from time to time, but how could this be possible? It seems to be happening every time I go out now. It doesn't start soaking up all at once, but I can see it slowly soak up as I cruise around the lake.

Could it be the water from the bilge area? Maybe a crack in the hull? (visually I don't see any big cracks or holes) - whatever it is, it's frustrating me because I find it hard to believe that the carpet can soak up from bottom up...

    Any ideas?

(Here's a few photos I took - from different angles. It can get worse than this.. to the point where that section is entirely soaked with water. The photos below are some what a mild version of it when it happens)

If there was a leak with the live well system or something, shouldn't it leak into the bilge? Rather than soaking up the carpet from bottom up? Isn't there a layer of fiberglass or something between the carpet and the bilge area?

    It’s your Livewell!

I run the big water up here in Michigan and plug the over flow holes and fill them to the top for long runs to avoid losing too much water and I see this all the time. The floor extends behind the seats and under the livewells allowing the water to pool and soak the carpet. It is unlikely this is bilge water

If you’re in rough water it just maybe water splashing over the rim and down the drain slots but if you’re on calm water it’s a leak

More than likely it’s the passenger side Livewell and will be one of the following:

A seal on one of the fittings in the Livewell is bad.

The Livewell itself as come lose leaving a gap at the top under the deck.

Your overflow hose has an obstruction and is not allowing enough water to drain and the Livewell is overflowing

One of the hoses has a bad seal or is cracked

You should be able to fill the Livewell and either see the leak from the battery area or a little more difficult is place a towel under the Livewell and see what part of the towel gets wet. Removal of a battery or two would be required. If you don’t see a leak look for the gap at the top of the Livewell and try splashing the water around to see if it gets out that way.

Thanks... I think MichAngler has a good point. I will check the livewell connections...

Well, wouldn't it be easier to go fishing and close out both livewells so no water comes in then see if it still gets wet? Suppose I'll try both...

Would the speedo hose route that way on the port side?

Was there a specific rub rail area that was missing the silicone? (if not I'll prob end up removing the entire rub rail completely to look for it....

i was thinking that some of the screws that attach the cap on under the rub rail might have backed out and water is getting in from there. Look for bumps that stick out leaving small gaps under the passenger side rub rail.
seeing those pics is like looking at my own boat, is that a diamond dust skeeter?
    good luck.

I'll check for loose screws around the rub rail then. What's a diamond dust skeeter?

Look below the rubrail, if thats the problem it should be around the console back toward the grab handle or atleast thats were mine was. You can see the factory silcone and you will be able to tell if any is missing. I bought a tube of marine silicone and it fixed mine. By the way, great looking bug.
