    Replace Hydrallic Steering

I have a 2008 Z520 (mercury 250) with SeaStar hydrallic steering (HC 5345). After the last 9 years, it is too worn for my comfort and will be replaced.

Any suggestions on a replacement model or uprade???

    Thanks!!

I just bought a Uflex from Don and Rhonda Weed at European Marine. I ordered the cylinder on Monday afternoon and it got here today. Fast shipping and great customer service!! My seastar had play in it as well and I can't afford to risk it as I have clients to keep safe.

U-flex all the way!! Don installed mine 2 years ago and to this day it is as tight as day 1. Don told me when I got mine they were very ROBUST. Believe me they are!!

For someone who has done it, what was the approximate cost to switch from Seastar to Uflex? Helm and cylinder.

Most guys just go from a SeaStar cylinder to a Uflex cylinder, and use the same helm unit.

How much hydraulic fluid did you have to use to re-fill/bleed your new cylinder?
