    New Lower Unit Question

    Hey Guys,

Getting a new lower unit put on a 12 Eyra
    Motor is a 2011 proxs 250

My question is - Gen2 torque master -aka wimgmaster
    or standard verado gear case.

I know the torque master is bulletproof,
Are there any advantages to the verado gear case?
    is the verado faster?

    thx in advance

In the link I can see where he says both units are fine for the eyra.

He goes on to say it's more of a preference thing.

All I really want to know is if the standard gear case is faster compared to torquemaster
if both have proper set ups

Pretty sure the Gen 2 is faster.

The Gen 1 was probably a more friendly case with loads and for hole shot. The Gen 2 was build to give more durability and now that we have had it a while everyone is learning to prop it for their loads and situations of equipment.

I have heard ( so it's not 'fact' )...that the Verado case is technically faster than the Torque Master case due to being smaller/thinner. However, the Torque Master won't blow out as early and it has the larger output shaft/bearings. I'd err towards the safe side and go Gen 2 Torque Master.

For my 2011 Merc, they replaced my Gen 1 with another Gen 1 Torquemaster. Can't retrofit the Gen 2 to the older motors.

    They'll fit...just not recommended.
