    Ultrex Install Pics

Well folks I have mine installed and tested on the water. I watched multiple videos, thanks to those who took the time to do them. However, in the videos I had to pause them and try to figure out little things like where to run the cables etc. This is a 45" 112v iPilot Link unit.

I have a Phoenix 721 and replaced a Motorguide Tour 109. I run a Humminbird 1199 up front with an HDSI transducer and a Hydrowave. I covered the transducer cable on the side of the trolling motor as with the prop stored out it rubs when stowing the trolling motor. I like it better as the head does not sit out as far.

For those who ask, I was able to pick up two holes from the Motorguide and drilled 4 new ones.

Here they are, I hope these help the other DIYer's! Holler if you have any questions.

You should have been able to use all 4 and drill two new ones. Did you remove the right side plate to reveal the right side holes?

Yes sir I did. Someone that did the install used some odd spots on the Motorguide, or they drilled new ones. She's on, the holes are plugged, and the Ultrex is incredible.

Man that sucks! I'm not sure what else I can add, I ran it up the side then looped it around at the head. I can email these to you in a higher resolution if I still have them.

Man I'm Jealous. Ultrex in my future next year maybe. Looks great and a clean install ! The only thing I would have done different is not use zip ties on the shaft. One big fish takes a run on you in a tourney and the line gets one of the ties, she is all over with. Speaking from personal experience there. I would use black tape or combination of to cover the ties. I have also seen over time a tie cut into the ducer wire.

I've got the black tape under the zip ties, but I would have to catch a fish in order for that to happen! But it will be taken under advisement.

    Thanks.
