I have spent the last 8 years fishing hartwell. This weekend the family is wanting to go to Keowee, cause I have a buddy that has a house there. Anyway I will be putting in at south cove and was wondering what lures/colors are working this time of year.
Worms,, any color you want to toss as long as it is green. Dropshot will work there. Top water will work around the islands on the lower lake when they come up. Get out first thing in the AM as the pontoons will be out in force after noon time. then go back out at sun set. Shakey heads around the docks will get you bit.
do lizards work also or is it mainly a worm lake? Carolina rig?
Oh but yes! That is my main bait up there. I like watermelon red 6" zoom.
thank you for the information... I will let you know how I do. The should be around 4-10 foot right I would think.. at least that's where they are on hartwell.
Thanks for the advise. It took me a while to find the fish and they were in only 2 foot of water at the backs if the coves.
