    2017 Mercury 115hp Pro XS. Rev limiter

    2017 Mercury 115 HP Pro XS
    Ser# 2B442155

    How does does the Rev Limiter work on this engine? Max recommended rpm is 6300. I am still breaking in the engine at 16 hours but am wondering what the rev limiter setting is and what happens if I hit it? Does it simply not allow the engine to exceed that setting or does it slow the engine down?
