    Which model

Big fan of Garmin products on my big water boat and would like a couple units for our Champion 210..Not familiar with all the models and looking for some opinions for biggest/best bang for the buck for our bass boat.

Pretty broad question without some kind of budget baseline. I myself am waiting to see if/what they come out with now that the navico lawsuit is settled.

Yup, need a rough budget at least.

Also, do you know about Panoptix?

Yes familiar with panoptix..1200.00 range per unit. Don't have to be the biggest or the best just good unit for the money

Dont know what to tell you in that case. For me, once I get the basic functions I have ti have, screen size is - by far - the single most important item to consider. I dont care about bang for the buck. It has to do ALL the things I want it to do. Then, I ask "whats the biggest screen I can get that does all of things I want it to do and still falls within my budget?". Then I almost always cheat and buy the next larger one :)

Exactly :) My "needs" when I bought this garmin setup were
    1) Panoptix PS21
    2) CHIRP 2D, DI and SI
    3)Touch screen
    4)NMEA2000
5)Charts for most of my lakes
    6) minimum 500 watt transducer, but more was better because we fish salt water and fairly deep lakes.

Our budget barely covered a 7608 if we wanted all that and Panoptix. We stretched to to a 7610 and are very happy with every thing except SI and DI quality.
