    Talons Screeching

    Hi,

I have two new talons that I have been out and used on three trips. They have started to screech at anything deeper than 5 ft. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Fold them down (if you can), extend fully, clean with a towel and apply WD-40 at the stages.

I have 2 12' talons and one developed it while the other did not. Eventually it got stuck and couldn't be cranked in. Took it to a Minn Kota repair center and he said two screws had backed out. My screech was the top of the screw head rubbing the inside of one of the three stages .

And how to do this procedure if you cannot fold them down?

Take them off and lay them down. You can also extend them fully when you are in deep water and drive slowly with them down to clean off and debris that has built up.

I've used Silicone spray lube. Seems to last a long time.

Are you just spraying the bottom extensions or anything under the top cover?

I sprayed the bottom extensions. Mine was making noises, after spraying with WD40 the noises went away.

So today I layed them down and put them down. No noise at all. I wiped them off and could see some scratched. I sprayed the heck out of them anyways and ran them a couple times. We will see next time out.
