    Question TH Marine Jackplate Question

Can anyone tell me exactly the purpose of this bolt? After running down the lake a few miles this past weekend in some fairly rough water I noticed the bolt in this position after pulling the boat out. I assume it should be flush with a lock nut on the bottom but the nut is gone. I can't really tell the purpose of the bolt however. Am I good to buy a nut and simply tighten it up or has anything moved?

That's the bolt that raises or lowers the jackplate

It has several nuts on it
I took this picture during my transducer install and it shows the nuts and fittings at the bottom of the boat

The bolts on the side of the jack plate lock it in place once you adjust the height
So your proper height should still be there
