I have driven 4 hours in a day to fish for about 8 and then drive back 4 again that night. Usually involves waking up around 3:30 and on the road around 4 and at the lake around 8 ... fish until about 4 or 5 pm give or take and then drive back and be home around 9 with a dinner stop. Do that a few times a year.

Fishing at Truman has gone down hill the last few years. PM me your best GPS coordinates and I will check them out for you and give you a report.

Tourneys, I've drove 12 hrs, but for a day trip only about an hr to 1.5hr. I fish a very long day and don't like to drive too far on each end. Trips that I plan on staying for few days to a week I'll drive a longtime.

I've fished from thousand islands New York to the big O in Florida and everywhere in between. So obviously driving to fish doesn't bother me.

I regularly drive 3 hours to catch nothing. Sometimes the boat doesn't even come off the trailer.

I go to Fork and Big Sam every so often. Long ride for me. Lucky I have Pickwick and others 30 minutes to 2 hours away.

Really???? Why in the world would you drive 10+ hours to Guntersville, of all places, when you live in east Texas, easily considered by most as the bass fishing mecca of the southeastern US??????

I used to fish Stockton with my uncle when I was young. I caught what would still be the state record northern pike from that lake when I was 13. We didnt weigh it until I was back in Ky so MO would not accept it for tge record book.

I'm flying 12 hours to catch fish this fall.
Nowhere is too far for the right experience.
