I can think of better reasons not to move to any socialist cesspool state.

Sadly you will find this in every state and just about all cities anymore but thanks for the heads up on not moving to New Jersey.

It happens everywhere, I live on a lake 30 miles from the nearest town. It's very quite and easy going but we had two vehicles stolen from the Marina in the park area. They unhooked the mans boat from his truck, also got in his wife's Toyota Sequoia and hauled ass in both vehicles. Then they decided to rummage through other vehicles on there way out, nowhere is safe from sorry ass people. I have several remedies for this situation but I think it's best to keep my mouth shut.

it's everywhere, not just Jersey. They swipe everything here, cops have bigger things to deal with than trying to catch night thieves. Parents in VA live in a pretty nice large subdivision, and it's rampant there too.

Just wait until your new democrat Governor takes office. You won't have to worry about strangers taking your all your stuff, the government will do it for them.

I am from Jersey and I have no desire to go back, but not because of crime. What you described is all over and you will not get away from it. Guy I work with lives in a higher end gated community and had his brand new not even a week old truck stolen right out of his driveway, thank god for OnStar.

As the drug addiction increases, stealing will increase. They either don't have a job or lose it and then have to pay their dealer somehow.

    I agree and FWIW,

I grew up in one of most crime ridden cities that annually, would vie for the crown as "murder capital of America". Throughout over 10 years of living in Stockton, CA, one thing I can share with you is that drug use is not quite the same as a drug problem...in my eyes, a drug problem is when addicts can no longer pay for their fix "legally". As well, certain drugs like meth were more likely to be used by those who stole to feed their addiction, whereas pot was used more as a recreation, and cocaine by those who still had jobs to feed their addiction (this becomes a vicious cycle).

One thing was always consistent - a strong economy would lessen theft that tied in directly to feed drug addictions/habits, and vice versa, when the economy worsened, so did theft for drugs, etc. Unfortunately, the economy in Stockton CA in all my years there was generally always depressed (not to mention the multitude of gangs and their continued warring for drug territories).

In the end, any addiction on a drug is destructive and very rarely ends well for the user or their friends and family.

Don't move to Jersey? We need a thread for this? I thought that was common knowledge.

Why not lock your car doors and keep the garage shut? Low life thief's are everywhere limit their opportunity to take your stuff.

what sux so bad about it now, is the thieves are so mobile, just cause you don't live in a high-crime area does not ensure you won't be affected in suburbia
