Is that solo? Do you plan on fishing with a partner or with a heavier load? If you add more weight the 25p is prob right, If you never really plan on running heavier (partner, wells full, extra tackle, etc) then you could go up to a 26p, esp in the colder months and will prob see a performance increase. I would go ahead and get one, nice to have 2 props so you can put on whichever is best for that given day. Most guys that want to get the most out of theirs boats have 2+ props.

Yes. Sounds like a 26 would do you some good as long as your load stays fairly close to the same.

Yes on the 26. 3 mph faster on mine than the 25. I can run 2 people and same load faster with the 26 than the 25, even though my rpms are only in the 5700 range.

Well I bought a 26 fury an ran it the other night, two people full load an was only hitting 75 an still turning around 6000 RPM's... well yesterday added a set of poles to the boat finally and this evening im going out to fish a evening tourney, curious if I should stay with the 26 or put the 25 back on since ill have more weight.

What are you getting your rpms from? 75 with two people and a full load sounds pretty close to me.

are you also changing the height of the engine P2P when you change props. usually a 25 and a 26 will run there best at different heights

With the addition of poles the 25p will prob be your best everyday prop. Solo in the cold months you will prob be able to swing the 26p and pick up a couple mph.

Sounds like you aren't running a monitor. Rpms can't be trusted on anything other than a monitor. What you think is 6k is probably really 5800 or 5850. Sunday I ran my 25 fury with full tank of gas and 2 people 74-75.7mph over about a 60 mile run. I actually ran 193 miles that day from one end of Champlain to the other and back. I do run a 26 and 25 fury on my boat. The 26 is better when I'm by myself and 1-2 mph faster but the 25 seems to like tourney loads a tad better.

So I've made a few posts on here and I'll throw you my .02

Everyone loads their boat different but as a good rule of thumb with ambient of 80 and water temp around 75-80 a merc 250 with a 25p Fury should run 75mph anywhere from 6krpm to 6250rpm.

the same loadout and same conditions should net 77-78mph ish somewhere around 5700-5800rpm.

    disclaimer:
people have mentioned p2p and this is very important. The 26p is gonna want to run higher in the water than the 25p (at least in my experience)

in my humble opinion the 25p is great for the average joe. I run a 26p year round now and I just recently swapped from a 25p. And here's why.
ny boat with a 25p tourney loadout (always loaded to gills) live wells and full tank of marine non ethanol and I will run 75.7-76.4 by myself (245 lbs) in the Texas heat at around 6250 rpm
my boat with a 26p fury and the same conditions I easily run 77+ at 5500-5850 rpm.
the hole shot difference is negligible, the ride is the same, just faster. All that said you add a second person and the holeshot suffers, but you can combat that by moving gear around etc. a majority of my tackle is in the back of the boat when I'm by myself to counterbalance my weight and it negates a lot of chine. A bud jackplate helps tremendously but I am still using my man jack and as you see am doing just fine. I could keep going but my best advice is measure your p2p. And then compare your numbers to the guys here

    Thats the truth right there.

If you arent seeing a digital R, its gonna be off by 200 roughly. I bought and sold 2 props based off analog readings and wish I could have both props back.
