We go smallie fishing in Canada every September. We always seem to have a couple bass "tournaments" on paper with the group during the trip. The fish are thick up there and 100 fish days aren't uncommon. Would be fun one day to have the smallie tournament and all you get to fish with was a single helicopter lure. Pick the color in the morning at breakfast and go. Tournament is done for you for the day when you get bit off by a pike.
I don't know about you but if it were me, I would get there very early Sunday morning. Get that first spot at the courtesy dock, and have the rods laid out on deck with every color tied on. Don't say a word.
I would tie one on and head for Juday Creek.
Fish under the bridges so they can't see whats coming.
I suggest changing the paper when You give it back to them..
Get a Rocket Rod and you're all set!

Get one of those screw-in things with a swivel and a tiny spinner blade on it. Take the spinner blade off and replace it with a dropshot hook. Voila! You got yourself a mini-Whopper-Plopper. Perfect for farm ponds and other small, quiet waters.
Those would look great on the shelf in my den next to the Pocket Fisherman I found in my Great Aunt's stuff whe she passed.
"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments
