I went with a buddy about a month ago and grass was scarce. We caught a few fish but nothing to brag about. But I will say he caught a 9lber a couple weeks before that

I fished it Saturday, reported a fish kill to FWC, multiple dead catfish and bream and 1 dead bass around 3lbs, water was clear but 87.6 degrees, Dunns Creek looked like a proverbial mud hole.

I was worried about that. I believe one happened in there earlier in the year right? Hmmm... maybe i will ease off somewhere else.

Live 300 yards from it...fished it last 2 mornings and fished a T there Sunday by running from Palatka...water STILL lower than 2015...2 heavy showers today should help...catfish "kill" evident today...grass way way down as far as amount, not good......3-4 inch shad bite mainly, my best bite coughed up 6...best 4.5# and 5# in 3 trips...struggle for a limit over 12#...12# won the T there Sunday...which is super lame...morning bite ok if some slight chop...BUT lake has gotten too windy in many sections before lunch most of the last 5 days. I did not fish any bottom baits if that helps you....due to the chop...

Appreciate the report. That sucks. I have had good days in there but it has been some time. Seems it will be a bit longer now.

Water is up, fishing has been good and predictable. No eelgrass in the lake. I wouldn't hesitate to go.

How is it during the winter months? I have a aunt that has a house on it and said I could use it anytime. Thinking about towing the Stroker down there this winter.

No strokers allowed.....Unless I get a ride in one for the first time
My buddies love it all year, they fish it for the Wolfsons tourney and Hospice in March and April

Until it has grass again you'll want to fish the big lake or river in the winter. Only 15 min ride to Welaka boat ramp. Let me know when you come. OH and your boat has a twin here on the river.

Drought ended June 1st BUT is has taken all of June to get near normal CL levels...
near normal is between the 3rd & 4th posts on the Sunrise launch pier...
still about 5-6 inches low but more/better bites last week or so...at 3rd pier post we are "normal"...also
    the tree marks tell you.

I fish shallow and mostly power fish....about 50 trips in 2 years, still a few places now churning mud
that I did not last summer.

    I go 3x a week some months...went July 1 & 3 so far this month...going tomorrow for another morning
"beat the heat" trip......launch is 15 minutes away...

Dry last 2 days with 102 & 99 degree afternoons so evaporation is major and current afternoon showers help reduce that burn off.

Rain update: 2.1 inches today July 9th starting at 4:30pm according to our yard rain gauge...
that is a good shower for the local water bump up after 4 dry super evaporation days.

of course my boat is at the factory the next 2 weeks so cannot take advantage...grrrrr.
