I have been having problems for 2 weeks. 2002 225 vmax on a ranger 520, shuts down. It may start right back but usualy has to sit for 5 to 30 minutes. Once it starts it runs great. It may run 5 minutes or 3 days. I put a new fuel pump on it 2 years ago. Relay? Pump? Fuel?
More than likely the fuel pump relay. When it shuts down turn the key and see if you can hear the fuel pump energize. If not, it is more than likely the relay. Other thing would be to pull the cover and with a volt meter see if you have power to the pump. If not, it is again the relay. If you have power then the pump itself is bad and time to take out a loan.
Did you change or check the low-pressure fuel pumps?
