    Prop for R83 ranger with yamaha 150ox66

    Currently running a yamaha 25m I believe. I have touched 60 mph gps but only turning 5400 rpm and that was with just me and 1/4 tank of gas, with two people and full tank I can barely get to 5100 rpm. I am thinking I need to go down to a 23 pitch. Anyone have any suggestions for a good prop?

    Do you have a plate or is the motor bolted to the boat transom?

    I'd try a Tempest+ 21". A two inch pitch drop will gain you about 200 rpm and you'll still be low.

    23M Pro Series, 23P Tempest Plus, 23P Razor3 would all be good choices for 3 blades.

    Bolted to the transom. Someone told me to try a Power Tech TR-04 in a 23 pitch. Anyone ran one?

    If you want speed stick with a 3 blade. A 6" plate would be the right fix instead of changing props.
