    Weight size

I was watching some of the FLW from the weekend and a ton of guys where flipping grass. I was curious as to what weight is used most often - 3/8, 1/2, 3/4oz more, less?

    Thanks

I was out Monday and 3/8 was fine on open water flipping clumps but needed the bigger weight back in the creek to get through the thick stuff that was matted up.

I was out with my daughter and grandson (engineering management student at ASU) on the first day of the FLW and we went to the Chickamuxen to see what the grass bed was doing and there were 18 FLW boats on the bed. It was 1300 when we arrived and high tide was 1200. We just watched for a while and there was a lot of water being hauled, but no catch'n going on.

I fished that tournament and can tell you no pro was using 1 or 1.5 oz. most were using 1/2oz or 5/8 as the fish seemed very spooky if you dropped a really heavy weight. Even 3/8 worked well when throwing a plastic

That's because it's not thick and matted yet.

Tiny pic is acting stupid. This is another pic from that day. This one was on a frog, other pics I couldn't get past the pop ups.
