Can someone help me diagnose my problem? When I try to put in forward or reverse, I can hear the linkage and I can see the rod that's going into the lower unit move, but it won't go into gear.

if you can see rod moveing , problem is in gearcase

Is this with the motor running? Just asking. Hard to get into either fwd or rvs without the motor running.
