Just a thought, the areas your having trouble with. Is that cover laying on those painted spot. Take the cover off and see if it's melted. I don't know, but it's close to the color of stuff on the paint.

If it's just a matter of the wax creating a residue on the paint that is not a big deal. Try wiping it with a rag and little acetone. That will take the wax off.
go to your local paint store that sells automotive paint. They sell wax and grease remover in either a pint container or you can get it aerosol as well. it will take everything off your paint but the paint. here is a some from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Kleanstrip-GS...grease+remover
After you do that. take some light spray detailers wax and go back over your boat. the best stuff is the black bottle meguirs.that will fix your problem.
