    Xd100 evonrude oil

What color is that oil, bought a boat and oil in oil injection tank is red. It's a 2003 carb johnson 150.
Went to put XD50 in and it's blue?

That is most likely what the red is...XD-30

You can swap over to XD-50 or XD-100 though.

I have xd30 in mine now. Is there any advantage to moving to xd100 or 50?

Yes, if you have an HO or DFI engine you should be running it already. I run XD100 in mine, you also have no carbon buildup and it's viscosity in cold temps is better. Mine uses about 1 gallon per 54 gal of gas so the cost difference if you buy it in bulk is negligible.

XD-50 is a better oil to run as it is a semi-synthetic blend. It does have a carbon reduction agent blended into it called Carb-X and it will leave less deposits in you motor. I run a carb motor and it is what I run. For me XD-100 isn't a cost effective alternative. XD-30 is fine for your motor, you should de-carb every 100 hours though.
