    496 maiden voyage

Took my new to me 496 out today for some running and bass fishing. When I got there it was rough. Long story short, this boat is great in the rough water. I was running from 40-50 mph with the nose down and it was slicing through like butter. Then, I trimmed it up to air it out some and see how it ran on top of the waves. Same, great. I easily hit 74mph and it was surprisingly smooth for how rough it was. The boat had more but that was all I wanted to trim in those waves. I would say there was an honest 2-3 foot waves all day. This boat has tons of lift with the tempest prop. I can't wait for better conditions so I can see where it'll run up top. We caught a few nice bass as well. My first impression of charger is great. I'm highly impressed.

It really surprised me how fast this hull is considering how well it does in rough water. I will say that it does want to chine walk and does require driver input. The fishing platform was good too and very stable. My dad and I were walking all around and it only rocks a little.

You can raise the motor and on top end the walk should disappear. My buddy has a 496 with a 300 and at 78-79 you can drive it with your pinky. No hot foot .

Right now it's running a 25 Tempest 2.75" below pad. Very small rooster tail. Almost none. 10" manual jack plate. Rpm's are getting up around 5800 roughly. Honestly I wasn't looking down much, it was too choppy and my smile was blocking my view. Lol. I will post some pics soon. I can't seem to send any straight from my I phone camera

That boat looks AMAZING! I Love that Color combo. Very classy and it looks fast just sitting on the trailer. Excellent purchase!
