    Helix 12 to Mercury?

Looking to link one of my helix 12s up to my mercury. What do I need to do?

You need the AS ETH NMEA2K dongle, Ethernet cable and AS EC QDE Etherent adapter for a single unit.

If you have units connected via Ethernet now and don't have the Ethernet switch, you need that also to connect them and the NMEA2K together--
AS ETH 5PXG, plus another Ethernet cable.

Check with Don (EuropeanAm) in the mercury motor section. He should be able to set you up with all ya need.

Wayne, I have the units connected right now but only need the engine information on one screen. What do I need to purchase?

If you still want the two units connected to share sonar/GPS data, you need everything I listed.

    Total for all three devices:

    Three Ethernet cables
    Two Ethernet adapters
    One NMEA2K dongle
    One Ethernet switch.

Both units and the NEMA dongle connect to the Ethernet switch. You choose which unit to display the engine data--one or both.
The NMEA2K dongle is an Ethernet device.

If you are not going to connect both units together, you just need the NMEA2K dongle since you already have one Ethernet cable and an Ethernet adapter.

No, just need to get the NMEA dongle and an Ethernet cable to connect to the Ethernet switch.

The engine harness connects to the dongle.
All discussed assumes you do have the engine data harness to provide the data.

Yes, that means you have the data harness on your engine.

Wayne - Quick question for you. I have all the parts I need. Where is the "backbone" typically located? I looked below the merc gauge and it is not there. Is it back at the motor? Does having data at the merc gauge mean I have the "backbone"?

I have no idea. The Mercury forum would have that info.
