I’m hoping to get some suggestions on what to do with my prop selection.
92 Skeeter SS140D 17’-6”
92 Yamaha 130 WOT 5000-6000rpm
Engine mounted as high as it will go. Prop to pad = 5-1/2”
3-blade SS 13.25x21” 52mph @5300rpm
4-blade AL 13x19” 48mph @5500

With just me, the 3 blade will get on plane in around 4 seconds. With more than 2 people, it takes over 10 seconds and I have to feather the throttle or else the prop will cavitate. With just me, the 4 blade is about the same to plane although it’s easier to get on plane with 4 people in the boat. My biggest concern is getting on plane faster versus top end. Both props have a lot of bow lift to the point that I can’t see where I’m going until it planes out.
I plan on mounting a 6” jackplate with upper and lower transom plates on the boat in a few months. This should allow me to get 3-1/2” PtP. So I have a couple of questions.
1- How much will my RPM go up if I raise the engine 2”?
2- Should I just keep my 2 props for now until I get the jackplate installed?
3- Should I drop down to a 13x17” 4-blade to raise my RPMs now?
4- If I go to a lower pitch prop to increase RPMs, will my speed increase, stay the same or decrease?

Thanks in advance for any replies.
