    2000 johnson 200hp performance mods

    hey guys i have a 2000 model johnson 200
as far as i know its all original. it runs well. however id like to know if there are any mods i can do to help it out.
im sure this motor has a ton of hours, i know it was tournament fished, even has the faded out lines of some guys name in it haha kevin adams if your out there i got your boat..
whats the difference in the 200 H.O. an mine? the 225 vs the 200?
my boat is rated for a 225 and eventually id like to repower with a low how 225 but i wanna work with what ive got for now.
this motor is an absolute gas hog, which is ok i expect it but generally making a efficient motor is a stronger motor. so is there anything i can do?

There was never a 200 HO. We don't do mods here that's what scream and fly is for. You can put 225 carbs on it but that will make you use more fuel instead of less. They are all gas hogs, keep your RPMs in the 4500 RPM range and you'll save fuel.

If I did mods, I would NEVER do mods on a motor with tons of hours. Listen to Fred...
