It will be close as in 1-2 mph with a slight edge to the Stratos.

probably the stratos both boats would be a handful at high speeds though.

I have a 2004 Stratos 195 ProXL and when new she would fly if you could hold on. Best I ever saw was 74.5 on a winter day fishing alone. It is a special feeling when the bow rises and you feel the boat get on the pad and the speed starts climbing. I think the 196 will be harder to drive but just as fast.

The stratos 294 for sure! I had a 2007 294 and that thing was a rocket for a boat with a 200 on it. I would see 73+ all the time. But you did had to learn how to drive it.

Most 294s with 200s are running mid 70s

Which ever one I set up and drive LOL

seriously I doubt anyone's ever been serious enough about either of those hulls to really know. I doubt anyone has gone through considerable set up time and expense to really know.

That's not true. We used to have some guys from Florida that posted on the stratos board that spent lots of time and money setting up a 294 with a stock 200. They had pics and video of it running 80 mph gps.
