    Viper coral 202

    Considering making a drive to look/buy a 99 202.
Just hve a few questions. Had a procraft 200 combo with a 200efi

this boat has a 175efi on it. The big heavy procraft never felt under powered just wasn't a speed demon.
It would be ran a. 5-10k elevation though but the procraft was also
is 99 a wood transom? Boat looks like it's in great shape

will it be really under powered?
Whats the people and weight eating?
a single axle trailer only on this one....

in 2'-3' waves does it take much water over the back?
    Lots of wind in colorado
    thanks

202 will probably have a softer ride than the Procraft in rough water. With a175 I would think it would run high 50's low 60's.

I have a 202 and before I re-powered I had a 200 Merc with no issues besides the lag of the carb at high elevations. In Texas she would scream. I would think a 175 would work good but at that elevation you will probably get the same speeds as the Procraft. Wood transom-yes. Check for stress cracks. Is the single axle trailer the original trailer? I'm no expert but I thought all of the 201 and 202's were on tandem axle trailers.

Coral 202 owner here. It won't be super fast but should be a little quicker than your old set up due to the hull design difference. I would try to find a 225 for it though or at least get a good deal on it since it has such a small motor on it. The single axle trailer is strange, they came with a dual axle. As far as the waves, most boats will take 3' waves over the transom. Just don't back into them, reverse troll in them and keep the nose pointed into the waves. I believe they're rated for 7 people.

    Thanks for the info guys
sold today before I could drive almost 7 hours to look/buy
    back to looking more sigh
ya a dual axle with a 225 would be great but only want a merc from these years.
if you guys see any within 10 ish hours of Colorado I would love a pm.
Looked like the og trailer. Matched the boat and coral name on the side of it.

    thanks again

There was a Coral for sale in Grantsville, UT about 40 minutes from my house. I saw it on the KSL Classifieds. I'm not sure if it is still available but worth a look.

    Thanks fsh
    found a smoking deal on a 13 lund impact 1775 with a 115 4 stroke.
    Pulled the trigger on that...
maybe when the kids get older ill consider a glass f&s again. But for now the me and the family are really enjoy the Lund along with the simplicity of the alum boat.
