    PS30 angle

When the Panoptix PS30 transducer transmit angle is adjusted either forward or backwards, are the sonar objects on the graph the actual depth and left/right position or do you have to do some calculations for the transmit angle chosen?

You should be able to test that with a line and weight as a target. Use one of those marker bouys or make a float with a line holding a weight or some target thats a ways down but off the bottom. Pull up next to it and note the depth. Then back the boat off and angle the beam so you can see the target again and note the depth.

You might also be able to find some under water structure. See how deep it looks when you're on top of it, then back off and angle the beam and look to see if it shows the same depth.

    Thanks for the reply Larry

Nice to see you back on the site.

Your presence and insights on Garmin units were missed.

Your suggestion gave me an idea.

I am going to set up the ps21 on the front and drop a rigger ball and do some testing and comparisons.

Just hoping the darn screen shot button cooperates!!

Such a poor screen shot system on such a nice unit(93sv).
