    Inline Fuses

I have 2 inline fuses at starting battery
1- brown and orange automatic bilge pump
    1- red
what size fuse should be used for bilge.
whats the red wire for and what size fuse should it before
I removed fuses not noting what went where
    the 5 amp was blown

Per our electrical tech, bilge pump uses 7 Amp. Regarding the red wire, we'd need more info - year and model of boat - it probably goes to a radio or depth finder, but that would require diagnostics - i.e. what's NOT working?

Sorry forgot to mention one of the fuses was 20 amp, so I'm guessing the 5amp was for bilge
I will have to try and trace where the red wire goes, I have no radio and depth finder wire is known which wire it is.

Ok I traced red wire to the jack plate pump, does anyone know if the 20 amp fuse is correct for that.

Depending upon wire size - 10 ga currently gets 40amp, 14 ga gets 7amp.

    Thanks for replying GBB
I got in touch with Bobs this is what they replied.
The inline fuse on the pump going to the switch is 5 amps.
The pump has an internal ambient breaker, so it can be wired directly to the battery with no inline fuse or breaker.
